The common name of Ying Yang Huo is "Epimedium Herb" (EPIMEDIUM). Popular name is "horny goat weed". It's a crawling Hardy perennial originating of the Japan. It's the leaves collected at the time of flowering which are used for the pharmacological preparation.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the leaves are employed to improve the libido and erection of the man. They are one of the principal ingredients which enters in the composition of the "spring wines", medicinal liquors considered as tonic and powerful aphrodisiacs.
